About Courtenay Tie Dye
In the 1960’s, I developed a tie dye style and folding technique which I call 'Geometriart'.
This method creates a style of origami tie dye of the fine art caliber.
I became widely known for the many tie dye t-shirts, mandalas, speaker fronts and backdrops I created for ' The Grateful Dead' and I became most remembered for my stage pieces. My journey began during the Psychedelic era where vibrant colors and a free spirit were combined to create fun and whimsical clothing and dynamic art.
Symmetrical with harmonious colors – my art designs have become of part of tie dye history and remain unique among other tie dye methods used by brilliant artists on the scene today.
An aesthetic balance of color and design which portrays dimensionality, dynamics and imagery. Please share and enjoy these new age visual expressions!
